These are the lists of places that I am currently looking at for the trips noted above. It will ultimately be whittled down as each trip gets closer. If you have any suggestions for these places, please let me know.
Many of the photographs on this site were taken with a Canon 5D/5D Mark II sporting a nifty Canon EF 35mm f/2.0 lens.
When traveling, I also used an Olympus PEN E-PL1 with a Lumix 20mm f/1.7 lens.
Currently, I am using a Fujifilm X-Pro 1 with a Fujinon XF 35mm f/1.4R lens or a Fujinon XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4.0R LM OIS lens.

The pictures are so beautiful! Are you going to start blogging again?
[Lovestofu, Thank you for the compliment and YES, I am going to try to start blogging again.]
What a tease! It’s 95 degrees here and I’ve actually been craving some Taiwanese shave ice for the past couple of weeks when it was a tolerable 67 degrees. Delicious shots!
[Cassaendra, Thank you! It's been so hot here so I've been craving ice cold desserts often. Hope you were able to get some Taiwanese shave ice for yourself. ]
I am so curious about the assorted toppings pictured above! Taiwanese shaved ice looks incredibly and intriguingly different from the US kind. Are those 2 objects on the left miniature flans of some sort?
[Margo, The toppings on the shave ice are as follows: mochi balls, flan and peanuts (left bowl); cin cau (grass jelly), azuki beans, peanuts and mochi balls (right bowl, clockwise from left).]
Looks yummy, what are those brown black thingis?
[Pam, The reddish brown objects in the bowl on the right are azuki beans. The black cubes in the same bowl is cin cau or grass jelly.]
This looks awesome!
[Linda,The shave ice at City Cafe is excellent. You should definitely try it sometime.]
Flan on a shave ice? What will they think of next?!
By the way, House of Annie has moved to its own domain, http://www.houseofannie.com. I’d appreciate it if you changed the link in your blogroll to point to the new site instead of the old ChezAnnies on BlogSpot. Thanks!
[Nate, Thanks for writing! Yes, Taiwanese shave ice here is served with flan and it's absolutely awesome. You should definitely try it sometime. Thanks for mentioning the new link for your blog. I'll go ahead an update it now.]
